Miguel Arnoldo Fernandez, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on October 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in Brownsville, Texas. He was born on September 6, 1960. Miguel lived a life filled with passion for his work and unwavering love for his family.
Miguel was a talented Printer and Taxidermist who found joy in creating beautiful works of art. His attention to detail and dedication to his craft were truly remarkable. Miguel's work served as a testament to his creativity and skill, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the pleasure of experiencing it.
Educated at TSTC with an Associate's Degree and a graduate of Los Fresnos High School, Miguel displayed a thirst for knowledge and an eagerness to learn throughout his life. He was always seeking new opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.
Miguel's devotion extended beyond his career; he was an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. His faith provided him with strength and guidance throughout his journey, offering comfort during difficult times.
Outside of work and church, Miguel enjoyed various hobbies that brought delight to his life. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in fishing and hunting, connecting with nature in its purest form. Additionally, Miguel was known for his exceptional BBQ skills—a true pitmaster who could bring people together through the spirit of good food. As a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Fresnos Falcon, he cheered on his favorite teams with unmatched enthusiasm.
Miguel cherished the time spent with his family above all else. He adored them dearly and made it a priority to create lasting memories together. His profound love for his dogs was evident in the way he cared for them as cherished members of the family.
Miguel was born to loving parents, Arnoldo and Apolinar Fernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents Arnoldo & Apolinar Fernandez, brothers, Abel Jaime Fernandez, Saul Armando Fernandez, aunt Maria "Magee" Gonzalez, and his uncle Francisco & Christina Gonzalez
Left to honor Miguel's memory is his devoted wife, Virginia (Vicky) Fernandez. Together they built a life filled with love and shared countless experiences. Miguel's legacy continues through his two sons, Saul "Ozzie" (Kaleigh) Fernandez and Miguel Arnoldo Jr. (Lana Rodriguez) Fernandez. The joy of Miguel's life extended to his beloved grandchild, Renee Alexandra Fernandez.
Miguel will be deeply missed by his Aunt Rosa (Pablo) Cantu, uncles Ramon Gonzales, and Baldemar (Bietriz-deceased) Gonzalez, sister Sylvia Lynn (John) Adrian, brother Daniel Erasmo (Alejandra) Fernandez, and all of his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews: Adrian Benavides, Xenia (Maurico), Johnny Adrian, Isaac Adrian, Mia Adrian, Danny Fernandez II, Jacob Fernandez,Nadine Fernandez (Nathan Garza), Maximus Fernandez, Alissandra Benavides, Emilia Benavides, Jax Adrian, Arabella Pedraza, Liam Pedraza, Evaly Garza. Additionally survived by numerous cousins who admired him greatly.
Services to celebrate the life of Miguel will be held at Los Fresnos Funeral Home located at 1005 S. Arroyo Blvd., Los Fresnos on October 8th with the visitation commencing at 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place on October 9th at St. Cecilia Catholic Church located at 606 W Ocean Blvd., Los Fresnos starting at 10:00 AM. Miguel will be laid to rest at Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas following the Mass.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: J.P. Cantu, Mauricio Benavides, Johnny Adrian, Isaac Adrian, Eric Gonzalez, and Ramon Gonzalez III. The Honorary Pallbearer will be Maximus Fernandez.
Miguel Arnoldo Fernandez has left an indelible impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His dedication to his craft, love for his family, and commitment to his faith serve as a lasting testament to his character. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, and talented individual who brought joy and inspiration into the lives of those around him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
