Elena Hernandez Sarmiento

Elena Hernandez Sarmiento, age 84, of Brownsville, Texas passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was born May 25, 1939, in Villachuato, Michoacan Mexico to Simon and Luisa Revelo Hernandez. Elena enjoyed spending time with her family playing loteria, listening to music, and dancing. She will be dearly missed.

Elena is preceded in death by her husband Enrique Sarmiento; two children in heaven; her parents Simon and Luisa; and brothers, Blas and Rosendo.

She is survived by her 10 children; 39 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Los Fresnos Funeral Home in Los Fresnos, Texas.

A chapel service will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at Los Fresnos Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Enrique, Jose Antonio, Leopoldo, Luis Ignacio, Jose Angel, Carlos, Victor, Jose Guadalupe, and Heriberto. Honorary pallbearer will be John.

Elena Hernández Sarmiento, de 84 años, de Brownsville, Texas, falleció en su residencia rodeada de su amada familia el miércoles 20 de diciembre de 2023. Nació el 25 de mayo de 1939 en Villachuato, Michoacán, México, hija de Simón y Luisa Revelo Hernández. Elena Hernández Sarmiento Elena disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia jugando lotería, escuchando música y bailando. La extrañaremos mucho.

A Elena le precedieron en la muerte su esposo Enrique Sarmiento; dos niños en el cielo; sus padres Simón y Luisa; y hermanos, Blas y Rosendo.

Le sobreviven sus 10 hijos; 39 nietos; 38 bisnietos; y 1 tataranieto.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el martes 26 de diciembre de 2023, de 11:00 a.m. a 8:00 p.m. con un servicio de oración a las 19:00 horas en la funeraria Los Fresnos en Los Fresnos, Texas.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio de capilla el miércoles 27 de diciembre de 2023 a las 9:30 a.m. en Los Fresnos Funeral Home. Seguirá el entierro en Buena Vista Burial Park en Brownsville, Texas.

Es un honor servir como portadores del féretro Enrique, José Antonio, Leopoldo, Luis Ignacio, José Ángel, Carlos, Víctor, José Guadalupe y Heriberto. El portador honorario del féretro será John.
