Ciro Hernandez

Ciro Hernandez 89 passed away May 26, 2022 at his residence in Laureles, Texas. He was born April 5, 1933 in San Fernando Tamp. Mexico to Tomas Hernandez and Maria Ahumada.

Ciro was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and was a custodian for nineteen years at St. Mary’s Catholic School. He enjoyed fishing, traveling with his family, visiting museums, history, taking care & driving his pick-up trucks, and Ciro enjoyed listening to the music of Jose Alfredo Jimenez and watching Pedro Infante movies.

Ciro was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and a great friend & neighbor to many.

He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Ahumada, his father Tomas Hernandez, siblings: Remigio Hernandez, Celestino Hernandez, Jose Martinez, Juan Martinez, Odilia Vasquez, Ester Herrera, Maria Ana Coronado, and his granddaughter Evangelina Silva.

Ciro is survived by his wife Cayetana Hernandez, his children: San Juana (Antonio) Nunez, Evangelina Nunez (Julio Peralta), Maria de Carmen Trevino (George), Cristina Villanueva (Jose),  and Ciro Hernandez, Jr. (Claudia). Grandchildren: Federico, Esmeralda, Luis, Joan, Nora, Selene, Jesus, Carolina, Roberto, Gerardo, Tomas, Sebastian, Emma, Ezequiel, Sofia, and Samuel. His extended family, The Coronado Family, Becerra Family, Trevino Family, and the Castro Family.

Visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2022 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Rosary at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos, Texas. Burial will follow at Los Cautes Cemetery

Honor to serve as pallbearers will be Tomas Villanueva, Sebastian Villanueva, Ciro Hernandez, Jr., Jose Villanueva, Geroge Trevino, and Jorge Becerra. Honorary pallbearers will be Emma Villanueva, Sofia Trevino, Samuel Trevino, and Ezequiel Villanueva.
